A study was carried out on four month stored seeds of Simaruba glauca, to improve germination and vigour potential through growth regulators. The seeds were given eight treatments i.e. with two concentrations of IAA, IBA and GA3(200 and 400 ppm), seed coat removed and untreated control. The results of germination and vigour evaluation at 38 days after sowing revealed the beneficial effect of IAA 200ppm over the rest with 36.33% germination as against 11.67 per cent in control. Improvement of vigour by IAA 200ppm was four fold higher than the control. The ischolar_main length and ischolar_main biomass were increased significantly by GA3 treatment.Keywords

A study was under taken to standardize the type of cutting, concentration of growth hormone and suitable ischolar_maining media to produce elite seedlings in Morinda citrifolia at Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam. Investigation was carried out to standardize the treatments to induce ischolar_main and shoot growth in different types of cuttings of Morinda citrifolia L. using two growth regulators (IAA, IBA) used in different concentrations (1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 ppm) in two kinds growth medium (Sand and Coir) for different type of cuttings, 2500 ppm IBA treatment recorded its superiority in terms of maximum sprouting (85%), ischolar_maining (79%) and survival (70%) percentage, number of ischolar_mains (15.83), ischolar_main length (8.51 cm), number of shoots (4.00) and shoot length (9.43 cm) in leafy shoot cuttings, irrespective of ischolar_maining media used. From this current study it is concluded that, for macro clonal propagation of noni (Morinda citrifolia L.), either leafy shoot cuttings or hard wood cuttings could be treated with 2500 ppm IBA or semi hard wood cuttings could be treated with 1500 ppm IAA and could be planted in coir pith medium for the production of elite planting materials.Keywords
